Wenatchee, WA – The Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board (UCSRB) recently bestowed outgoing Chelan County Commissioner, Bob Bugert, with the Esther Stefaniw Memorial Award. This award is reserved for those who make substantial contributions to restoring salmon and steelhead in the Upper Columba Region.
Bob served as a UCSRB Director for two years bringing with him a vast knowledge of WA state salmon recovery efforts. Prior to his time on the UCSRB, Bob spent a decade working for the Governor’s Salmon Recovery Office helping to establish Washington’s regional salmon recovery boards including UCSRB. Bob was also appointed to the Washington State Salmon Recovery Funding Board which provides funding to achieve salmon recovery, including habitat projects and other activities that benefit salmon and other fish species. His leadership and ability to build consensus among partners will provide a lasting contribution to the Upper Columbia Region.
