OLYMPIA – Dave “Fishin’ Magician” Graybill has been appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee to the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Graybill, of Leavenworth, is known for his reports on fishing conditions in North Central Washington.
He replaces Rollie Schmitten, who is also from Leavenworth and did not seek re-appointment when his term expired in January.
The commission is a nine-member citizens panel appointed by the governor and subject to confirmation by the state Senate. Three members must reside in Eastern Washington, three in Western Washington, and three from anywhere in the state.
Graybill is an avid angler and member of many outdoors organizations, including the Icicle Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Coastal Conservation Association.
He has served on the Columbia River Salmon and Steelhead Endorsement Board. He also serves as a member of the Chelan County Citizen Advisory Committee to prioritize funding for salmon recovery projects in the Upper Columbia.
His term runs through Dec. 31, 2020.
